Lainisalo Oy is known as a reliable and reputable supplier of surface treatment services for demanding components. Customer satisfaction is also indicated by the fact that we have grown into one of the most versatile, quality-oriented, and largest industrial painters in the Nordic and Baltic regions.
In the course of over three decades, Lainisalo has grown from a one-man business into a group company operating at six locations. Our turnover in 2021 was over 9 million euros, and we employ more than 120 surface treatment professionals.
And we appreciate our personnel. This is indicated for example by our willingness to make big decisions for our skilled workers. One such decision was to move our facility from Helsinki to Perho. This move was caused by the desire of one of our long-term employees to move back to their home region. We did not want to lose the skills of a top professional, so we moved our production with them to Perho. In this way, they can keep passing on their important skills and know-how to the younger generation.
Lainisalo hired its first employee in 1992, and purchased their first industrial hall five years later. Since these early stages, the product development and research department has been continuously looking for new ways to utilise their skills and expertise.
The desire to innovate has been inherited from Pertti Lainisalo, the founder of the company. He wondered about the dull grey appearance of televisions, computers, and other technological devices as early as in the 1990s, and decided to do something about it. n partnership with the TV maker Turun Televisiotehdas, we made televisions decorated with the Unikko pattern designed by Maija Isola for Marimekko. That is a reference we still remember fondly.
Colourful televisions are however only a small part of the service range offered by Lainisalo. One of the most significant business areas of Lainisalo is the surface treatment of pharmaceutical industry devices and their components. These include teeth X-ray and magnetic imaging devices, monitors, and laboratory equipment, which require particular care when it comes to surface treatment.
The skill of surface finishers is highlighted in particular in the coating of high-end, confidential, and partially licensed products. These are typically things such as orders in the Military business area, which are highly confidential and include unique components: some of them even go up into space.
Over the years, our services have been gradually honed, and we have become diverse professionals who serve their customers and rely on innovative product development. Development also means updating production methods, and the most interesting new opportunities there are offered by robotics.
Our other paint shop in Estonia indeed houses a robotic line that is both a reliable and cost-effective alternative for a more traditional surface treatment line.
We already have two units in Estonia that serve for instance the automotive industry. Many inside and outside components for trams, trains, lorries, and tractors are coated at our Estonian facilities.
We have indeed come a long way since Lainisalo started as a one-man business in 1990, travelling around Southern Finland looking for contract work in industrial paint shops and even jewellery shops. Now, components coated by Lainisalo can be found on every continent in the world.
One thing has however stayed the same – The desire to offer more than superficial professional services for all of our customers.
Lainisalo develops and introduces new methods for the surface treatment industry. We want to offer premium-grade industrial surface treatment services for businesses of all sizes. Our customer pledge is based on supply security, quality, cost-effectiveness, and partnership.
